Consider how spontaneous play allows children to work out their emotions. When children are playing they're finding out about who they are.
Explain how you can see there is a symbolism to a young child's spontaneous play, that there’s a meaning to it.
Perhaps look at how through spontaneous play children explore social, material and imaginary worlds and their relationship with them.
