hi Shelleyl,
The difference between formal and informal creative activity.
Formal creative activity is planned activities within a structured learning setting for example when the children in my class are having their singing lessons this is a structured lesson, and when we are making things on the creative table this is a structured activity which have set learning outcomes and may be adult led.
Informal creative activity is where you learn through daily experiences and the environment for example what children learn from their family and neighbours, going to the market or library and through work, play and the media. A child may learn a dance through watching their family, they may learn how to bake with their parents at home and help in the garden arranging where to plant flowers, which could be child led.
Creativity improves the self-esteem, motivation and achievement of learners.
hope it helps a little x
