:banghead

Hey all, I am new to this so here goes....

Can any one help me with this question?

Describe how one activirty or experience supports the communication and intellectual development of a child?

I currently work with 0-2 years (Baby room) I thought of sponge painting?

What do you think, any other ideas better than this? And how should I start answering the question?

Please HELP ME!! All advice appreciated

I think singing nursery rhymes might be what you are after it promotes communication by teaching a child sounds of language and the child will pick up and be able to start copying and singing along with the song . this increases intellectual development also aswell as social interaction the song will get the child also to do physical development if the song has action like the wheels on the bus

Hope this helps T

Thats fab thank you! What about if a child was blind or deaf and had special needs, what could I do with them when singing the rhymes? Would I need any specialist equipment and how I could plan this activity?

Also.....sorry to keep on but how would this answer for my assignment?

Thank you for you help =)

children with hearing problems would need to sign the songs so that would be covering communication etc visual sighted children can still sing may be you could give them props to touch like a wheel , horn bus etc but they would still be increasing communication .
