Being creative can have an enormous effect on physical and mental health, when children dance with scarves they are having the chance to express themselves in a creative way. It may be a way of relaxing and unwinding after a busy morning concentrating on other activities. Moving to music is also a way of getting exercise and if done outside fresh air too!
For some EAL children and children with special needs it is a way of expressing themselves and joining in with other children. It should be an experience that is valued and recognised as an important part of the curriculum
