what are the recent government policies that impact significantly on early years work and how do they affect you when reflecting on your practise?

Research alternative ways of reviewing and evaluating your own practise.
I've been looking at it for ages and it's just not getting any clearer!

You need to be looking at reflection as a tool for contrast, look at the new EYFS which states this within one of the areas. Why is refection important? What could happen if we never reflected? You currently already probably do this, how often do we always think next time I will do this or change that etc, this is reflection. If we never reflected on what we did your provission would never move forward. Children need you to refect inorder to plan better provission etc. Ways to do this are review meeting with your team or on a 1:1 basis, writing things down, questionaires to parents and staff to look at what we say we do to what we actually do, this is a really good tool, we all have policies and procedures that say what we do but does everyone think we actually do what we say we do in the polices. Other ways to reflect would be to evaluate actvities and appraisals with staff and your manager etc By using these methods as a tool for improveemnt you are always constantly improving.
