Help SOS Advice needed on where to look

2.1 Evaluate Your Own Knowledge and Performance Against Standards and Benchmarks

I have just started this unit and really need help to find the standards and benchmarks to enable me to start this part of the unit. When they state standards are they talking about the EYFS? I am really not sure about benchmarks.

Any advice would be gratefully received. xx

Hi, in this situation benchmarks are the standards your setting has for its own performance. For me benchmarking enables you to see where a setting's at. What's missing and what's being done well xx

If you're part of the setting's Self Evaluation system the finalised document will help.

The level 4 National Occupational Standards are used in part to inform the quality of qualifications, Playwork NOS and the SEN code of practice enables you to measure the setting's benchmarks for supporting children's rights and educational needs.

There's a small paragraph for this in the level 5 handbook - page 64 on amazon.co.uk search the preview for 'benchmarks'

Hi maat, the national occupational standards form the basis of qualification content. So for the Social Health Care unit numbered 51 you'll find it refers to a multiple of skills sector NOS in order to evidence & provide learners with the required breadth of knowledge & understanding.

Search for HSC NOS here and read about them here

NOS for the children & young people's workforce can be found as NVQ CCLD levels 2, 3 & 4 on the archived CWDC site

Hope this helps
