Default Help re relationship with manager

Hi

I have been a reader of this site for a while but have never posted.

I have been in childcare for a number of years and worked with a number of different managers, but now have a bit of a problem.

We are a fairly large preschool which is run by a commitee of parents. We have 6 members of staff and a supervisor.

We all get on well as a team most of the time, but our supervisor can be fairly overpowering and has very strong ideas and expects us to work to her ways all of the time. When we have staff meetings anything discussed usually ends up with her way being adopted. She also has a really annoying way of talking to us like we are 3 years old, and quite often will make comments about the way we have done things ( or not done them) in a really patronising way, and this is quite often in front of other members of staff while we are setting up.

Most of the time, she is fantastic and the preschool is all the better for her being there, but her manner has upset quite a few of us.

The problem is we cannot go to the commitee as we normally would as the new chair is her best frined! Is this allowed and if so where or who do we go to, or do we just put up with it?

Thank you
