Excellent reply above thank you

a warm welcome to the site.
Smudge do you list any organisations/individuals/publications you keep upto date with or that you rely on to keep you up to date?
It looks like this is asking for you to remember or to know an occasion where you can say 'Yes, we do that as well .. knowing the reasons why you do it maybe - supporting policy & procedure.
Documents, papers, research, news articles all have the potential to influence & support policy and procedure, the depth of which may vary but could all be incredibly useful. The term
Childrens health, Safety and Well being returns some good results in itself if it helps prompt practice.
Within the forums these are a few of the resources I find useful:

http://publications.teachernet.gov.uk/ - search facility & newsletter subscription.

A LSCB - search

A LA Early years & Childcare

A local PCT or other NHS website

Healthy eating - Google search, news and images
Wales NHS Direct
Parents as Partners google search not as easy to find information, but rewarding in that you can come across other highly relevant leads, with time on your side.

Other forums, industry specific/social networking places where information shared leads on to you recognising something relevant to your own setting/position - information that in turn leads on to you identifying a creditable source and resource which may then change/support policy and procedure.
http://www.brake.org.uk - information that can support policy and procedure on planning for road safety awareness.
