What do you use to inform your evaluations in relations to child development
sounds so easy but having problems putting something down.

What information do you collect to form the monitoring, evaluation and reporting on a child's progress, getting so stressed today with this.

Personally, experience and knowledge of how flexible development can be. Professionally - I can do statement's were what we based judgements on - stepping stones were in operation at the same time, development matters supersedes them both which now has progress matters as its tool for monitoring evaluation - ready to stand corrected

Tbh it's one of the combined evidencing areas that is mind blowing. Once fully mastered you could go on and apply for any CEO position - nhs or corporate lol. I'm not sure what evaluation methods settings have in place, but documents available online, inside out knowledge of the learning journey/journal system, development chart information from books & online could all be used to build a setting's individual provision of mapping development - The Early Learning Goals. This will also depend on the age band you work with and if additional frameworks need to be used - primary/foundation & eys profiling, assessments ..

An additional place to collect information from may be from the PCHR - Personal Child health record, development & checks. I've found these development guides great for backing up resource learning areas and activity ideas. Using basic milestones, knowledge of an activity's attributes, its values for age groups and relying on the input from others who are more closely associated with specialisms/own Children & needs.
How it would all fit together to prove eyfs compliance is something else.

I'm not sure if this is what's needed but reflection/a reflective approach can be a tool for monitoring development/provision, staff meetings that identify gaps in planning / provision for development. Ways of checking/monitoring activity take up/participation by the Children and as necessary the impact take up has on or for an individual's development goals, attainment of them, next step setting and all the written evidencing of them.
