I am really scared about this!! I've been asked to set up a physical activity in my setting to include doing risk assessments of the indoor and outdoor area, which I think I know how to do but I'm really not too sure :S
The second part of the observation will be at nappy change time, my tutor is going to observe me doing the changes, looking particularly at prevention of cross infection and how children are encouraged to assess the risk for themselves. I will be looking at how you give supervision while allowing the child to manage risks. The thing is, I work with baby babies (like 4-18 month olds) and I don't understand how at this age they are able to assess for risks by themselves, or manage risks! (unless I'm being completely blonde!! lol
Any pointers at all will be much appreciated as I really am worrying about this observation!!
Thanks in advance!!
