Hiya,

In your setting you will have policies and procedures that you will have to adhere to.

In my setting i was not allowed to carry a personal care routine as a student but now I work there part-time so I can now. It is essential that settings adopt a 'safe woking practices, ie procedures to ensure that:

children are protected from abuse during care routines (such as toileting and nappy changing)
children are not subject to abuse or exploitation at any time they are present in the setting
The adults who work with children are suitable according to regulatory requirements
The adults who work with children and who may become vulnerable to accusations of improper behaviour are protected.

You can link this with unit 305, child protection.

Hope this helps you, gud luk
