Default Food preferences and eating habits

Hello everyone

I am ploughing my way through a dietary project, but am stuck on one question - explain how food preferences and eating habits changer over time.

Does anyone have any suggestions please.

Many thanks.

Think about how we now see food - ie low fat. low salt, low sugar etc how we now try and promote healthy options.
Consider what makes people change - a better understanding of what 'goes into' some foods - like all the narsties that may/may not be in some fastfoods, which could increase the use of organic foods
How animals are treated - this may effect what is eaten.
Also how media may effect eating habits - when someone published research saying fish oils are good for the brain - more people started eating oily fish. Isn't there an advert with 'fishy milk'? .....Well milk with added fish oils or something!!!!!

.......oh and also as children get older they may become more aware and want to change, even to the point of low self-esteem and eathing disorders.
