Does any one know the answer to this,, have just down loaded the revised SEF for early years and have still areas of the old one to complete should i stop that one and concentrate on the new one. Was thinking could transfer the info where applicable but hang on to it to show Ofsted any way Any help greatly appreciated

You should keep hold of what you have already done and use it where relevant in the new one...

Then go wtih the new one from now onwards.

You will notice that the focus of the questions has changed...

instead of saying what you do you now need to say how what you do improves outcomes for children.

Thanks for your reply, was abit concerned when no one replied. SEF is always a scary subject for all, your advice was helpful Why do they feel the need to keep changing things although i don't think that the new document is as bad as the first

They said they waited a year for the SEF to bed in, then made changes to some areas.

The main change is the focus of the questions, showing what it's like for a child in the setting rather than what you do.

The new one isn't too bad except for the leadership and management question which is flooring a lot of childminders.

As we work alone, we are the leaders and managers and should answer in relation to what we want to improve in the future and how we see our own self progression.
