Help SOS 303 how children develop at widely different rates, but in broadly the same sequence

Hi, i know there area a lot of posts for this already but i am going round and round in circles. My assessor has set me as a question:

How you know that children develop at widely different rates, but in broadly the same sequence.

Just a bit confused as to how to write it up and any help would really be appreciated. xx

Think about babies and children, there are milestones that they will reach such as sitting and walking but they will not reach these stages at the same time, some babies shuffle along on their bottoms, some crawl before they walk. They do not all hit a certain age and do a set thing, children are all different and develop at different rates, ages and stages. Some children will sit on a potty at an earlier age than others or become comfortable sitting on the toilet, the milestones are there as a guide for development but every child progresses at their own rate. Hope this helps.
