Smile Smart-Training Anyone?

Just out of interest, I'm doing my course with Smart Training... just wondered if anyone else on here is studying with them too?

no and wouldn't touch them with a bargepole. i have 3 learners who "passed" with them last year they know so little i moved them down to repeat level 2. they were furious to start off with then after a term realised they had had no teaching at all.

Hi, there are many opinions on the forum some not as objective or as appropriate as they could be sorry.

Please feel free to post whenever you find the need I'm sure those that can help out, sharing experiences & best practice will do so where they can xx

I'm not going to be down trodden by someone who patrols the boards like a head teacher giving short blunt responses to requests for information and help.

You know of one assessor in an almost nationwide company, you dont know me or my assessor so its a little unfair of you to make assumptions particularly as I have clearly already embarked on this course... you could have perhaps offered something more in the way of guidance rather than a put down?!

And whilst I totally appreciate that you have a wealth of knowledge and a multitude of experience to share, your presence on the boards would surely be of more benefit to us students if you were to alter your tone and offer help...

Thanks for that Ruth, fortunately I'm old enough and have enough hard skin to take it. I'd fear some of the younger students could be easily put off on their course with such comments.... so thanks for removing it.

To offer reassurance to students reading this thread. If an awarding body has certificated a qualification the next training provider/awarding body, must recognise that certification. In line with codes of practice for all awarding organisations.

If the next training provider finds gaps in knowledge, advice and guidance should be offered to support the student. This could be top up training, reading, internet research etc. To support the student undertake the current qualification they are enrolled onto.

To prevent this happening all training providers should offer students sound Initial Assessment, to ensure students are not enrolled onto qualifications they are not ready to take, offering direction to help students reach their goal.
