Babies - Provide a "cosy corner" with cushions and bean bags. Our baby room has net sort of curtains around it, offering privacy (although staff can see through clearly the children still use it for peek-a-boo).
Are you to include toys, or just areas? Treasure baskets are a must for intellectual development!

I work with 3-5 year olds so I might not be very helpful! But I do know every room in our setting has been told by our advisory teacher to have the cosy corner.
you need to think about the age/stage of the babies. You want space for them to crawl and walk, somewhere comfortable to give bottle feeds, high chairs, small table and chairs, sleep area, changing area (unless there's a separate sleep/feed/changing area?).
There's a good mix of children between 6-15 months in our baby room, so there's the treasure basket, with loads of different textures. push along toys (baby walkers). brightly contrasting posters. soft and board books... sorry I am a bit brain dead myself this evening! When I did my baby unit, I wrote a routine, rather than a room plan.

If your changing area is included, you want to make it so that it gives some privacy - but staff are not shut away when changing babies - easier said than done! lol.
