Default TDA 310.3 how do learning activities relate to statutory and non statutory frameworks?

hi hope everyone is having a nice Sunday!!
I seem to be having a very stressful one, having trouble answering the following 2 questions...

***** Explain how the learning activities relate to statutory and non statutory frameworks for the school curriculum*****

***** use knowledge of the learners, the curriculum and own expertise to contribute to planning partnership working with the teacher as part of the overall lesson plan*****

any help for these questions will be greatly appreciated as I feel like I am searching and getting no where!

I do not have the level 3 diploma book, so if anyone could tell me if there is help in the book and what is says will also be massively appreciated!!

Hi, these are quotes from poage 187+ of the STL handbook

From page 189 and if you work in England

The Early Years Foundaion Stage for Nursery or Reception class. Activity planning will be based on the EYFS framework which sets out what babies and young children should know and be able to do from birth to 5 years. Areas of learning and development are set out in seven areas of learning and describer the outcomes or goals expected by the time children enter Key Stage 1. These are divided into prime and specific areas of learning. The prime areas are
  1. Communication and Languiage
  2. Physical development
  3. Personal, Social and and Emotional development
The specific areas are designed to use skills which children have been developing in the prime areas
4. Literacy
5. Mathematics
6. Understanding the World
7. Expressive arts and design
Page 188:

How the learning activities relate to statutory and non-statutory frameworks

The curriculum includes both statutory and non-statutory subjects. The National Curriculum provides the statutory part of the whole-school curriculum. and applies to pupils at compulsory school age from 5 - 16* years. With the exception of religious education, which is planned locally, each subject area sets out what must be taught in programmes of study.

Statutory core subjets:
Mathematics
English
Science

Statutory Foundation subjects:

History
Geography
Information and communication Technology
Art and Design
Music
Physical Education
Religious Education

The non-statutory framework is an essential element of the whole-school curriculum. It includes areas of learning which support children's overall development and curriculum.

Non statutory subjects include:

Personal Social Health and Economic education (PSHE) including se x and relationship ecdcuation
citizenship
modern foreign languages

* the school leaving age was raised from 16 to 18 in 2015 which was after the STL handbook was published.

For the second criteria - use knowledge of the learners, the curriculum and own expertise to contribute to planning partnership working with the teacher as part of the overall lesson plan page 191 is helpful.

It explains ways your own professional practices impact on the planning process and help you provide support to the teacher. eg. you ..
  • become familiar with programmes of study for the foundation or key stage that you're supporting
  • you understand the acheivements, needs and interests of individual children in the class
  • you're ableto reflect on your own knowledge, expertise and interests.
Quote p.191;
As you become more experienced you will begin to contribute your own ideas at each stage of the planning porocess. If you are asked to plan and deliver acticvities, you will need a range of infornmation about the individual learners from:
  • records of learner's acheivements (what doe this look like in you setting?)
  • individual learning plands (ask the class teacher or your mentor to share what these are)
  • information provided by the teacher (morning plenary? TA meeting at the end of the school day ?)
  • your own observations (visual observations, written notes - methods of assessment)
Hth xx
