General question Stupid question????? Knowledge and understanding questions only?

So far, I have been answering Knowledge and understanding questions only, assuming that this and observations, direct questioning / professional discussions will complete Performance criteria. Is this right? My friend has been writing essays on those too, but I didn't think I had to - I'm confused now!
TIA

Hi, can your friend get in touch with the tutor to check through things ?

This thread on PC's should help explain a bit more .. it's for NVQ3 rather than 4 but would think it's the same ..

Hi Cathys1,

That is how I have been doing mine. What is required you go through each knowledge and understanding question, some will need quite a lot of detailed answering and may cover a good few A4 sheets, while others may only need a small paragraph. If you feel you have covered a knowledge question in another unit you can then refer to it. You will have some reflective accounts to do, and your assessor will come and observe you within your work place, she/he may also ask some questions verbally. I hope this helps

Thanks. Bless my friend, she said that she was wondering why it was taking her so long, and she kept repeating herself. We didn't know (either of us) about refering to another answer - that is a great help too. I was panicking that I hadn't done enough work, and would need to catch up. (Done 3 units, but illness keeps meaning we haven't signed them off yet!)

So glad I found this forum - think I may be researching on here quite a bit!

When I did mine the college had a policy of giving us an assignment for each unit, in doing this correctly all the answers to the knowledge questions could / should be included somewhere in it. This was then referenced with the knowledge questions .. for some of us it was a lot easier than just answering the questions and took less time and less writing as we learnt to cross reference what we were doing so not constantly repeating yourself. Could this be what your friend supposed to be doing?

I have been answering the questions but cross referencing when my answer/discussion has covered more than one answer or pc if you know what I mean. My assessor lets me know which ones to do and which she will observe from obserations. I got my local reception teacher to do me a witness statement for 401 I showed her what pc's I was trying to cover and with this my assessor managed to tick off loads of pc's. If only they were all that easy!!
