you start by having a meeting with your assessor who should explain it all to you, the underpinning knowledge will be taught at college but of course they will assume you have learnt the basics on your level 2. are you sure your e on the right course if you haven't done one before you should start on level 2.

Hi and welcome to the site.

Are you able to contact your course provider and see when you can arrange a meet up with your assessor ?

In the meantime the search facility on here can help with what others have posted - enter the knowledge or unit number into the search field and click submit.

All the CCLD unit pdf's are available on CWDC website for online reference .. please click through from this thread

And this thread is useful for anyone looking at ways to layout their course work - how to layout each unit

As a guide I'd suggest reading through the unit slowly and seeing how and what you do already fits with what you're reading.

Level 3 will enable you the first footing to run and manage an owned, part or cooperative owned early years setting / work directly with children 0 - 16, receive a payrise based on any pay scaling your setting has in regards to qualified status and allow you to legally stand in for absent supervisory colleagues .. as tutu has mentioned it may be good to check that the level is right for you and your group.

Unit 302 - Develop and maintain a healthy, safe and secure environment for children

These links may help start you off:

www.hse.gov.uk - Health and safety executive and RIDDOR pages

NHS direct - wales

Knowing your Local safeguarding Children's board will help.

Your local fire brigade and your local police force - department

For welfare requirements please search - search online for England's stautory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.

If possible a copy of all your policies and procedures would also make things much easier.

Very best wishes with it and please feel free to post when you need to xx

Yes, idid think about doing level 2, but so many of the jobs are asking for level 3. Ihave been told level 2 wont be enough for some jobs but to apply for a permanent job where i am you must have level 3.
Thanks for your help
