This action plan sets out the Government’s response to the Bercow Report, which laid out the challenge faced by policymakers, the children’s workforce and delivery partners to effectively support children and young people with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN). It sets out a range of initiatives to improve services for children with SLCN, culminating in the National Year of Speech, Language and Communication in 2011-12.
