Hi, i was just wondering if you found an answer to,

k4d895 - Necessary human and materials resources to support childrens physical, interlectual, emotional and social development.

I am stuck on it, i don't really know what they are asking for.

Hi in the end i just wrote for human what i thought was a good nursery nurse and for materials i wrote about the areas of continous provisions we have and how we extend them. dont know if this is right havnt recived the work back yet

For K4d895 I'd talk about the human resources being the correct ratio of adults to children. If particular activities are suitable to be led by one adult or if others are needed to provide necessary support. Human resources also being having the correct careworker. If you have a child with any needs can your staff provide the support they need or do they need extra work from 1:1 key working or from other outside professionals. Is this possible for your setting to provide?

Suitable material resources being all the equipment you need to support each area i.e learning toys & activities for intellectual development, role play & persona dolls etc for emotional & social development, climbing frames, bikes hoops & large areas for running for physical development etc etc. Also comment that some areas provide opportunities for holistic development i.e during physical play children are also learning social skills which will support emotional & social.

Each area in nursery provides opportunities for each area to be developed...quiet areas for reading etc.

For K4D894 I'd explain what the nursery policies are for reporting & getting refferals when you have concerns for a child's development & progression. For our NVQ's we use a policy sheet for these types of questions. It just has 2 main headings 'description of policy' & 'How it affects me'. The best way to answer this one is to look through your nursery policies & briefly describe the relvant ones about children's development.

The referal systems are the route you take to get extra help or support from outside professionals such as speech therapists, behaviour experts etc. Who do you report to, who do they report to until you get the help needed......(did that waffle make sense?)
