I really dont know where to start with this question, Im slowing going out of my mind with it can anybody help?

The question is: how to plan and organise the environment to meet the needs of children of different ages and with different abilities, including planning and providing balanced, flexible daily and weekly routines that meet the individual child's needs and that of the group

I think that this is probably about the planning cycle how you observe, plan and evaluate to make sure that you are meeting the needs of each child. Its about each child getting different things (learning intentions/otcomes) out of the same activity. Its really about knowing your children and making sure you are able to move them on in their learning. It could also be about having a balance of activities inoors and outdoors to maximise oppertunities for the different wasy that children learn.
I havent done this bit yet but thats probably how I wil look at it

Hi, examine the areas of the room, the rsources the setting has and how children access all these - freely, by rota, themed. Is this organised via the planning ..

The Teachers TV video Enabling Environments is good and allows you to ask yourself how the long term planning has been able to show good places for the equipment to be situated and how the resources can / have relfected the needs of Children & staff - How daily, weekly planning can be used to change activities, outcomes and provide help with any transitions needed...

Staff meetings / project meetings are great for getting together and planning what's going where - how and why. But even if a floor plan has been completed without additional input, a blu tac poster & resource pieces could be put up so Staff & Children can move them around and help inform the next 'furniture move

We have some great planning documents & attached reasoning in the download forum if it helps - Little Apples of Bromley Planning

xx

Dont forget to mention outside activities when talking about childrens needs, how activities can be changed for outside and inside play.
