The Department is currently consulting on new statutory guidance for children's trusts on inter-agency cooperation to improve the wellbeing of children, young people and families.The new guidance reflects the aims of the Children's Plan to develop greater cultural change within children's trusts, so that they better understand and increase their focus on children's needs, and build stronger local partnerships to deliver measurably improved outcomes.The guidance will also help schools and other key partners and providers of children's services to become more active partners within their children's trust. The consultation runs until 26 June 2008.
