CYPW Assignment 64 & 65 - Outside Agencies

Hi, can anyone help me with this question? I need to know the process for referring to outside agencies (e.g. speech tharapists, etc) as I have no experience of doing this. The question also asks for suggestions as to how I would improve the approach to multi agency working and why? Can anybody offer any ideas from their experience?

you need to find out what your settings procedures are. In our settng i would approach my supervisor if i had any concerns about a child she in turn would speak to the parent and ask their permission to speak to our early years advisor who would then onserve the child to see if further help is needed she would advise us on what steps to take next and who to seek help from. As for improving multi agency approaches you could do this by making sure staff and parents are supported and kept fully informed of any information needed they need to know and by making sure all agencies are welcomed into the setting and fully supported in the work they do
