Default Help with child study for Level 3

My child study is on a 16 month old.

I need to do 2 more observations. One must relate to communication and the other must relate to intellectual/cognitive.

Anyone got suggestions for activities/interests that I could observe on, bearing in mind he is quite young with very limited vocabulary?

Also, I need to link a theorist to my large physical observation. I observed my child using a ride-on toy - which theorist links to this?

I'm really stumped here and would appreciate any help!
