I'm confused STL Unit 8- supporting ICT in the learning environment software licensing?

Has anyone done this unit and can offer some advice on how to answer this question please?

1.3 Outline relevant legislation, regulations and guidance in relation to the use of ICT, e.g. Software licensing.

Struggling to find anything useful online or maybe I'm searching for the wrong thing, I'm not sure but you guys are awesome so thought I'd ask you before I bang my head against the wall

Hi, this is from page 150 of the STL handbook

AC 1.3 Legislation and regulations governing the licensing of software to early years settings, schools, college and FE institutions exist to ensure that information stored and communicated through ICT systems is kept safe, and that pupils and staff use equipment safely. School and college managers need to have policies and procedures in place, while employees need to be aware of legalities and of their responsibilities, as well as how they should keep pupils safe. The main legislation is:
  • software licensing agreements
  • Computer Misuse Act 1990
  • Copyright and Rights in Databases Regulations 1997
  • Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and EU Health and Safety Directive 87/391
  • Data Protection Act 1984 and 1998 - which is, as of 2018 GDPR
  • Freedom of Information Act 2000
Hope this helps xx

Thank you, I've mentioned a few of them already, and then about some of the school policies, which I have no idea if I was meant to include, but thinking it answers some of the question too. I will go back now and add the ones I missed
