Default CCLD 3 Confidentiality

Hi, I am new to this forum and have just started my level 3 and would like to ask if anyone can help me with the following question?

Name three areas that demand confidentiality?

Do they mean in general or within the childcare setting?

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

i presume within your setting......i.e the way you use records and personal information, how you deal with any child care issues, and how you make sure you are conforming to confidentiality polices that your setting has in place. :) data protection ect. hope that helps.

Hi

just ask your setting for their confidentiality policy, this will help you. As twinthing rightly said look up the data protection act and quote from it.

hope this helps

I'm not sure, if you can ask for clarity on this from your tutor please post what they advise.

'Name three areas that demand confidentiality?

Personally I'd look at:

Disclosure - times of, events and procedure.
Accessing sensitive data - storage arrangements for documents/records
Provision for an area of privacy - room space for meetings, appointments, discussion.

Hth, a warm welcome to the site xx

Thanks, you have all been so helpful.

I have just got the policy from my manager and have already researched the data protection act for a previous question, so will look back on that too.

Many thanks again

I would probably mention when dealing with parents at drop off/pick up time, if there are any concerns about their child then make sure you dont discuss it in front of the other parents.

Storing childrens details in the correct manner would be another i would mention, as you wouldnt leave documents around for others to read, or leave your computer screen on with details of children on when parents are around.

Dont know if any of this has helped or if any of it is correct, but it is what i would write about.

Hope it has helped.xx
