Notebook Hand hugger pencils

Do you find these types of grips beneficial ?

I like their chunkyness but wondered if the ease of holding them makes it harder for the children to bear down on the pencil lead & create a solid mark ??

Now you mention it I had noticed that Jade's drawings with her chunky pencils are fainter than if she 'steals' her brothers pencils, I wonder if that's why??? Hmmmmmmmmm!
