We kept rats for many years, really super pets and as Cybertwin says very clean pets, easy to care for etc. My eldest son used to walk around with his rat on his shoulder!
Don't have any now as boys have left home.

Dont' talk to me about rodents!!!

I've caught 5 mice in my house in the past 8months!!! Stressing me out cos of two yr old, baby on the way and business being at home. Woke up few nights ago to see one on my bedside table staring at me!!! Got revenge and caught it yesterday though!! My house is so clean and tidy they make me feel gross:weepy:

. they make excellent pets. My daughter has had rats for many years, in twos's, so they are company for each other. They are friendly and like being handled.

Well, I really thought I should update this and let you know that 2 weeks ago we brought home 4 baby girls - Matilda, Remy, Scabbers and Tinkerbell. They're now 10 weeks old, wonderful pets and so full of mischief..... I'm completely besotted. As soon as they sit still long enough I'll take some photos and post them. Never again will I have a hamster, too boring and bitey!!! I'm a complete ratty convert now, lol! :rotfl:

Photo's are coming, I promise.....

Just thought I'd share an amusing anecdote with you...
Last Friday was a bit of a bad day for me, well to start with anyway, I was baking muffins and for some reason they were just not cooking! So it's 11.20am and I have to be at the pre-school to collect DD in 5 mins and the muffins're still too moist, so I rang the school to say I would be a couple of minutes late, turned the oven off and opened the oven-door, grabbed the dog (I walk her to school every day)and rushed off. I got halfway to school and felt something heavy move near my armpit! After suppressing the urge to scream, I realised it was Matilda who had been sound asleep in my jumper for most of the morning!!!! I got to school and was just collecting DD when Matilda decides to pop her sleepy head out! The headmistress was in the room, looked closer and let out a little squeak, lol! The pre-school leader came running over and scooped my lovely girl out. Bless her, she was as good as gold and loved all the cuddles she got. We were at a birthday party yesterday and at least half a dozen parents came up to me and told me I was a legend in their households!!!

Hahaha, I've now confirmed the village myth that I'm crackers!! :rotfl::rotfl:
