General question Unqualified Room Leader?!

I was just wondering if anyone has ever known this in nurseries? has anyone on here worked or is working under someone with little experience and no qualification (but working towards level 3)? Does it matter? I know it all comes down to how good you are at your job but does it undermine everyone elses years of training and hard work? Would offsted approve? Any opinions would be much appriciated

Hi

I would say anyone who is in a supervisory position should definitely be level 3 qualified as this is proof of the competence and knowledge of the role and to lead a team and run a room you would need to have that. There can be exceptions if the the room leader had a lot of experience and was very good at their role and it was just a matter of having the qualification to confirm it however I do not think this is good practice. Not good for staff motivation either.
