General question Te Whariki?

Hi, I'm currently working on:
Unit 136 (level 5) Outline early years curriculum models supporting children’s care, learning and development
I've wrote about the 4 home nations curriculums and i'm trying to write about New Zealand's Te Whariki because I read it had raised a profile? I can find out about it but I cant seem to find out how it has anything to do with our curriculums?
For instance if ours was influenced by theirs etc?
any help would be very much appreciated
Thanks in advance
