Thanks Tutu - well he goes : When you are completing reports it is important that they are accurate, legible, concise and meet the legal requirements such as Data protection act.
Choose a short artical from mag or newpaper and write a report of no more than 500 words. Assess article to see if it meets above criteria.

thanks

Hi, I'm so sorry this is late.

Report writing pdf from Loughborough.ac.uk, complying with the data protection act from businesslink - the eight principles, personal access rights and freedom of information act.

For the purpose of a report, each time you read data in an article that identifies an individual, a location, a relationship, a means of contact ask yourself why that data was included. What benefit did it provide, is this relevant to the article's focus / is it appropriate / is it necessary. Are observations or statements of events & actions factual, appropriate, relevant, necessary. What do you feel the article is trying to portray or provide the reader with, what information would summarise the article enabling it to improve professional practice, knowledge, understanding or provision of care & learning.

What permissions would be needed, storage facilities used & required when handling personal data.

The free Early years magazines education.gov.uk, ended in Spring 2010 & have articles that may be useful.
xx
