Got a case of brain freeze! Please explain the importance of promoting children's assertivness, self confidence and self esteem to enable them to protect themselves! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

This might answer some of your question it comes from my text book I hope its on the right lines if.
children are cared for in an envirnoment where they are praised and made to feel worthwhile ,they will gain in confidence to become indepentant and cope with things such as unforeseeable changes or criticism therefore protecting themsevles.

Thanks T, hadn't thought about it that way!! The question is written how I've put it. I put something about stranger danger, also how they might feel confident enough to confide in some one if they are in an abusive sistuation.
