You have this book? pages 17+ look at the issues arising from maintaining confidentiality and needing to disclose information, and page 180 helps you analyse as it states recommended practices. Use the index to search for partnership working.

http://www.silkysteps.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12542

Please see if your tutor has a copy of the Early Years Educator handbook you can use so that your research reflects your course requirements.

Unit 2.5 the complexity of working in partnership is included on page 153 EYE level 3 handbook and involves you understanding how partnership working happens and why. You're looking to include parental consent, systems of keeping information, changes of professionals, coordinating all the support and services. Maintaining confidentiality is then explained on page 15

Hi, a warm welcome to the site. Although this thread is 4 years old the information is still relevant.

Page 153 of the EYE handbook states

The complexity of partnership working
We have seen that there are severeal barriers to partnership working. What can make partnership working more complex is when families and children require the input of many different profesionals at once. Coordinating the different input can be difficult and it is easy for communication and information sharing to break down. This might happen for a variety of reasons.

Parental consent
It may be that parents do not give their consent for information to be shared between professionals and , unless it is a safeguarding matter their wishes have to be respected.

Systems of keeping information
We have seen that sharing information about a child is important when more than one professional is involved. This is not always easy as each service will keep their own records. In many areas of England, these cannot be accessed by other services, although in London a shared database of information is being rolled out. This should allow a speech and language therapise enter their notes about a visit to a school, which the child's social worker will then be able to access.

Changes of professionals

Difficulties can also arise when there are changes of professionals. Parents and early years staff might have built up a good relationship with one p[rofessional and then a different person may come into the role. When a child or family has many different professionals working with them, this may cause a lack on continuity.

Coordination
Ideally when a child or family has many different professionals working with them, it would be good for everyone involved to meet up. Unless there are safeguarding issues, this may not happen very often, or not at all. This is because it can be difficult to coordinate a meeting when e eryone is free to attend. Ideally, in complex cases, a lead professional is appointed. A lead professional is responsible for coordinating and sharing information with the range of professional involved with the family.

Search inside the amazon preview for the word 'complexity' and then click to page 153

Hope this helps xx
