Hi, a warm welcome to the site.
There are a few threads for reflective techniques, please feel free to use the
search page
These aren't numbered as a list they tend to be more holistic.
a Questioning what, why and how
b Looking for alternatives
c Keep an open mind
d View things from different perspectives. As if you were a parent/ child/ manager/ Ofsted/ H&S/ a local business.
e Think about possible consequences
f Test ideas through comparing and contrasting
g In retrospect: ask ‘what if?’
h Synthesise ideas - take on board what you see around you, what others are doing, suggesting and trying.
i Look for, identify and attempt resolving problems
Testing ideas through contrast and comparrison:
Unit 304 Develop and maintain a healthy, safe and secure environment for children.
You could ask ..
Does, whatever it is it work or doesn't it?
Does = compare
Doesn't can equal what forms the contrast
How did it work, and what was the difference.
Will anyone be at risk, is the setting still a safe, healthy, secure environment.
Maybe you can identify an event at work you could write a reflective account on? A time the setting introduced a new piece of equipment or implemented a new procedure or routine?
I hope this has helped a little, please enjoy the site xx
