the farm might have a form for you

otherwise go and visit and take a look around at what you think the precautions should be, every farm is different, ponds, animals, pregnant mums and lambs, etc etc

Another way round it may be that you write a letter stating that Parents are responsible for their own and their children's safety. If Mums/Dads/Carers weren't going then you would need to do full risk assessment. If you search Risk assessment on farm visits you will be able to look at a few examples.

I have to draft up a risk assessment for visitors to our setting. We have a general risk assessment form, but this is one that we fill out when anybody visits us e.g. firemen, person giving talk etc.

Any ideas as to what I need to include how to set out etc

many thanks

This document from Ryedale museum is good:
www.ryedalefolkmuseum.co.uk/education.asp - the risk assessment pdf is the last link in the scrolling window.

I've only really been involved with the hefty assessment folders so would also be interested to hear what everyone takes into account for a visitors version ..

Hi

Had a quick look at the link, but although got lots of info on it is more aimed at schools.

Have drafted one up for our setting to fill out when the photographer visits. We used it today, as we had a company in who video the children sitting in a car and they use a backdrop and the finished product is offered for sale in dvd format to parents.
