Winners of National Award Scheme Recognising UK’s Best Pre-School Activities are Announced Today
The winners of the ‘Whats On 4 Little Ones 2007 National Awards’ are announced today. Sponsored by Organix, the pioneering children’s food company, the award programme recognises the best pre-school activities across the UK, as voted for by parents.
Parents have been logging on to the on-line directory - whatson4littleones.co.uk since August 2006 to nominate their favourite local pre-school clubs and activities. Nominees ranged from toddler groups meeting weekly in church halls to highly organised, branded classes offering specific skills and experiences. Winners were nominated and then voted for by parents based on criteria which included value for money, fun factor, support and socialising for parents/carers and ways in which the activity contributes to a child’s development.
Every pre-school activity in the UK had an equal opportunity to be nominated and voted for, making the awards a true representation of how parents feel towards what is on offer for their little ones.
The activities with the most votes were as follows-
Best activities for under 2 years
Best activities for 2 years - 5 years
A special ‘Parents Recommend’ Award also goes to Messy Monsters and Mini Stages, two groups that received fantastic feedback from parents but marginally missed out on an award.
All of the groups are available nationwide and can be found at whatson4littleones.co.uk
Sam Willoughby of What’s On 4 Little Ones said: "Holding the 2007 awards has been so exciting for us and has confirmed that the activities and classes are a life line for parents. These Mums and Dads have now had a chance to say ‘Thank You’ by voting for their favourite groups. We're thrilled for all our winners and they thoroughly deserve this recognition of all the hard work that goes into making their classes so much fun for both the little ones and the grown ups!”
Local groups are often run by a small legion of dedicated and committed volunteers and carers who ensure that things run smoothly to the benefit of both the parents and their little ones.
Sasha Felix, founder of Sing and Sign said: “I am absolutely thrilled Sing and Sign has received this award! Our classes encourage a baby's early listening skills and attention, eye contact, gestures and shared smiles all enjoyed with our magic ingredient – music! We feel it's a great way to encourage early communication. We also know parenting is often relentlessly hard work and parents deserve to relax in our classes and enjoy seeing their babies having fun! I'm over the moon that Whatson4littleones parents seem to agree our approach is a winning formula.”
Proud sponsors of the 2007 awards are Organix – the manufacturer of organic children’s food. Organix helps to make parents’ lives a little easier - they offer a No Junk Promise on all of their foods so parents know they are safe, pure and nutritious. Organix are associated with the awards because their ethos is to reward best practice.
