Hiiiii! I'm totally new to this, I'm stuck on "Give example from own practice of supporting children or young people to assess and manage risk." Can anyone give me an example or heads up of what type of things I should be looking at?

Thanks a million in advance! x

Hi, examples are things like when a child is attempting to do something, encouraging them to think about what they are trying to do and whether it is safe, and if it is not then encouraging them to think about alternatives. for instance, if a child is climbing on the furniture inside and wanting to jump off, it is the practitioners role to encourage them to assess the risk for themselves, and encourage the child to think of an alternative for themselves and helping them to think of an alternative like climbing and jumping in the garden so they are still taking a risk but within safer boundaries. Another example could be when a child uses scissors or outdoor equipment such as spades. I hope this makes sense.
