       maintain relationships

Different relationships may include:
  parental
  carer
  sibling
  family
  friendship
  emotional/sexual
  acquaintance
  professional


Outcome 2 expects you to .. Be able to support children and young people to make and maintain positive relationships


2.1 Demonstrate how to support children or young people to maintain relationships with carers or
       professionals who are important to them

2.2 Explain how to support children or young people to make new relationships

2.3 Provide practical and emotional support to encourage children or young people to commit to and
      enjoy positive relationships



Outcome 3 expects you to ..  Understand how to support children and young people when there are relationship difficulties

3.1 Explain why it is important to encourage children or young people to resolve conflict for
       themselves if possible - links to ideas and resources on a forum thread
3.2 Explain how to support a child or young person who is distressed by relationship difficulties
3.3 Explain how to support a child or young person to end relationships that are making them unhappy 3.4 Describe the circumstances that would result in a relationship causing concern and the actions
       that should follow

       involved in abusive or exploitative relationships
