Painting traffic
lights
Use the stop, wait and go, red amber green bear stampers to explore the
coloured commands that are given to the drivers and bike riders using the
country's roads. Once painted, sprinkle over with some glitter and see if
the lights really do sparkle when beams of light are shone on them - wind up torches
Resources needed
A3 black craft paper - trimmed to an oblong.
Dinner plate sized white paper circles
Red, yellow and green poster paint
Set of painting stamps - printout, laminator, sponge cloth & glue
Copy of the traffic light dicussion slip for adding conversation
to the table
Containers for the paint
Adding texture
to each traffic light colour
Glitter and hair combs to drag the paint
outwards and prompt conversation about shine, beam and the reach
of light.
Make the paint stampers by printing the bear images
and cutting out.
Laminate them individually and trim.
Cut rounds of sponge and secure to the underside
of each stamper with glue
