(cover toes with a hand, socks or sheets & blankets) 5 sleepy piggies plus 5 sleepy piggies makes 10 in a warmth filled patch. All 10 sleepy piggies slowly start to dream of the raindrops they might catch.  Finger play each toe represents a piggy! gently pinch and wiggle a toe in turn as each line of the rhyme is read aloud.  At the last piggy's run into bed turn the 3 squees into a racing tickle and finish the rhyme with the sum 5 toes on one foot + five on the other makes a total of 10. Use your fingers to represent the raindrops as they fall onto the sleep drifting piggies all snug in their bed or socks! Piggy resource ideas Add dough to this rhyme for a more tactile learning experience - piggy toes playdough Print and share the rhyme poster, cards and slips and use the counters for ordering and sequencing  as a lone activity or in connection with the playdough.
