I have learnt today that if you have bad news for someone they shoot the messenger...

a friends son is becoming a tearaway...he and my son went to the shop with hubby...the other lad had no money and as they got back he stareted eating sweets...my son asked where they were from..he had shoplifted them!!...i had to tell his mom,felt awful but hes 11,she flew off handle and said things like oh its never yr son is it?..and some nasty things that were uncalled for...think she was trying to take the attention off wat her son had done..I didnt do it to get her mad,I would want to know if it was one of mine..wouldnt u?

Absolutely ! I'd rather a friend told me than a police car turning up on behalf of the shop owners you did the right thing .. must of been tough on both sides ! Hope things smooth out quickly ........

Miss Muffet is on a distinguished road
Thank you

Oh Rach!! :weepy: Don't feel bad, it's not as if you were being malicious, you just tried to do the right thing. I can understand the mother going off on one, but not at you!! I agree with Ruthierhyme, I would much rather a friend tell me than the police. Once she's calmed down, she'll realise you aren't the bad guy and will probably (hopefully) give you a call. :crossfing {{{{hug}}}}

u were right..she calmed down and sent the son to apologise ...lol...then soon followed for a cuppa...think he was sent to see if the water was smooth...
I would rather hear it from a friend...told my 3 if they ever get arrested for something like that they better beg the police to keep them...lol
