Bug spider catchers
this pot and slide idea traps
and secures minibeasts for safe release
Use a clear or transparent cup or pots
to avoid trapping your bug's legs.
Bug slide image
Print, cut and laminate the bug slide image and
use to help capture & release any unexpected visitors you
encounter indoors or even out.
To make a viewing area in the middle of the slide
cut out the central section of paper/card before laminating.
Hole punch just above the text and tie through
a length of ribbon to hang and store the slide for easy access

When you locate an insect or spider that
you'd rather was outside, or outside and would prefer elsewhere,
gently place a cup or jar over the top of it, taking care not to trap
legs, tails, feelers or antennae.
Slowly and gently slide the laminated image between
the glass and resting surface.
Enable the insect to step safely onto the
slide as you push it through.
Support the slide & glass carefully as
you lift both up - please see article's lead image.
Practice the technique using plastic spiders and enjoy your home-setting
relationships by making enough slides
to share with children's home ..
