Parrot Squawk & the monkey's story
1. Parrot squawk
lives on an island filled with trees and monkeys. Pirate monkeys!
2. One morning the island's sea washed up a big wooden
chest.
3. The monkeys were excited, this was quite an unusual
thing to happen!
Parrot Squawk flew over to help open
the chest and inside they found treasure! Sparkly gems, I spy
telescopes, a bag filled with shiny coins and a bottle with a rolled
up piece of paper inside.
4. "What to do, what to do?" Parrot Squawk squawked.
He knew the treasure belonged to someone, but who? The monkeys
didn't know, the monkey's didn't care, they wanted to play! Some
monkeys took the sparkly gems to their water pool and watched as the
sun danced over them.
5. Some monkeys took the I spy telescopes to the tallest
tree on the island. From the highest branch they loked up, down
and all around.
6. Parrot Squawk swooped in low and took the bag of
coins. He knew where he'd seen them being used - by people in the village.
As he passed over the rooftops he tugged the bag and the coins fell
to the ground. The people were surprised, they were also very happy
their money had been returned.
7. A boy watched as Parrot Squawk turned back towards the
shore and decided to follow him. When he saw the wooden chest and
the bottle lying inside he carefully took it out and unrolled the paper
scroll ... what do you think it said?
