Bird seed playdough game!
Blend, roll, count and
share balls of seed infused dough with 4 garden bird characters, most
notably the winter's very familiar red breasted Robin.
Raise awareness of
the birds living through winter in children's own gardens and the greater
struggle to find food during this season. Share information with
parents and carers about yearly feed plans and show how the children are
involved with caring for wildlife whilst in the setting - Why feed birds from Sussexwildlifetrust.org.uk

To prepare the activity
Print and cut out the opposite sides of each bird and glue
together to form a whole. Laminate and trim.
Print, cut out, laminate and trim the grass standing area
and the number allocation discs.
Use lumps of dough to stand the birds on their respective
stands and the place the prefered number disc on the grass base
to indicate how many balls of seed dough need to be made.
Play by
combining the playdough with seeds, adding texture to the dough. Roll
balls and distribute between the bird characters.
