essential ..
Activity
resources - picture
Large, A3 sheets of black craft paper.
Large plastic floor sheet - or large shallow tray
Small bowls for poster paints
Assortment of paint colours
PVA glue
Glitter
|
|
Set up the painting splatt area by spreading out the plastic sheet and
displaying the available paints.
Place an A3 .. or bigger piece of black paper on the sheet and drizzle
over some PVA glue.
Alternatively lay the paper on the bottom of the tray.
Sprinkle glitter over the whole sheet .. from a height if wished..
Don't worry about any glitter not stuck to the glue - it jumps around
as the splatts hit and has a great 'firework sound & effect ..
Activity

4 differing fabrics.. we used faux short pile fur, cotton, brushed cotton/flannel
and T-shirt fabric
1 small zip lock bag per splatt
2 Tablespoons of rice
Cord or twine to tie
Scissors
|
|
To
make
Fill a small zip lock bag with about 2 tablespoons of rice
Use a bowl or other circular object to mark out and cut a circle of
fabric approximately 17cm in diameter.
Cut additional numbers of circles to suit needs.
Place the bag of rice into the centre of the fabric circle and gather
the edges together.
Hold in place and wrap a short length of cord around the top and tie
off tightly & securely.
Repeat the same process for as many splatts as required.
PLAY,
by holding the top gathered area and dipping the base into the pots of paint
Hold up, notice the distance and let go .....
|
|
VERY MESSY :-) .. please make sure
cleaning materials are on hand, or permission to make a mess and run has
been provided ..
Re-use the splatts once activities finish. Untie and wash the
fabric for use another time ..
