Layout a large sheet of bubblewrap, bubble side up and secure it to its
surface.
Swirl orange and yellow paint over the top and invite
spreading to blend the coloured paints together.
When everyone is satisfied with the colouring they've made gently
plance a cutout beehive template on top.
Press the hive down gently into the paint and then peel off slowly.
Leave to dry and then repeat on the reverse side or glue two separate
sheets together to form a double sided honeycomb hive.
With a hole punch, make a number of holes along the bottom
and 2 at the top.
|
Use the two top holes to secure the hive to
a tree branch or hook and the lower ones for string that can then hold
sticky taped bees.
Add a name label for children to take their finished projects home
or to display in the setting.
Risk assessment for this activity includes,
using safe paint, supervising activity with scissors, string lengths no
longer than 15cm or 6" - avoiding
strangulation on CAPT bubblewrap disposed of safely once the activity
has ended.
