Hubby suffers a headache before a storm which goes as the storm breaks (but he does have a head injury and hydrocephalus which is to do with pressure in the head anyway) all to do with the pressure before a storm and it dropping when a storm breaks (according to his neruologist)

anyway still love storms, but also the sunshine that we have had today - spent a lovely afternoon in the pub!!

Biggrin

I was in the kitchen peeling spuds when lightning struck the garden of the house over the back!!! I'm ashamed to say I ran away:blush: but in my defence, I could feel the electricity and when my mother-'out-law' touched my arm I gave her a shock!!! Too close for comfort!

I love storms though. When I was a kid, my mam would put stools in the window so my brother and I could watch the storm, it was great and is still one of my favourite things to do.

We went to see a comedian last night at Middlesbrough Town Hall and the rain was coming down so hard that even though I had my (floor-length) skirt pulled right up ( scary sight!) the rain was bouncing up to my knees, so I was still soaked!:gloomy: LOL

And yes, hubby and I both get headachy before a storm, although I think it affects hubby more because he turns into a real grouch!

Well I'm so glad its not just me!!! I thought I may have been imagining it yesterday!! we had a few storms pass over and my head hurt a few minutes before we heard/saw the storm until a few minutes after it had passes over!!! It really hurt! :sorry:

Miss Muffet just so you know........ I would have ran too!!! but as scary as it was I bet it was amazing to see!!! I LOVE sitting by the window or even n the door step and watching a storm pass over lol I'm so sad that sometimes I even try and take photos of the lightening!!! lol

And Chloe dear....MUST you rub it in that you can do that??? lol im sooooo jealous! afternoon on the beach with a book sounds fab - but maybe not in the middle of a storm!!!

sorry folks but you aint seen or heard nothing yet. What we get here is like big ben chiming. The claps in S.Africa are so loud etc the houses shake and as for the hail stones, clench a two year olds fist and just about that size.Best time to buy a new car is after a hail storm that is if you dont mind a few indentations. You have to go and cover your car with thick blankets to protect it if its in the open.believe me they sting if you get hit by one.But I love watching storms at home or abroad.lol

Hi Anj,Im not in S.A. but jolly old U.K. Up north in fact. There should be a paragraph change after big ben chiming.
the joy over there is you can have a storm for an hour or so and half an hour later can be lying by the pool on bone dry grass. You need the storm to cool things down.lol
