Default part time job juggling.

I work part time in a playgroup and i am looking for a job to fit in with this which I am finding very difficult, I want more hours as I only work mornings, I am level 4 qualified ccld, i have applied for nursery assistant posts to no avail, over qualified i suppose and i cant be flexible because of my first job.
I dont want to leave my job as i love it and we have a great team but it is really difficult to find anything in childcare that fits in, so it looks like i will have to do something else but what i dont know, anyone else manage to juggle two jobs together, or got any ideas of jobs that might fit.

Have you thought about before and after school clubs. We really struggle to get good staff who don't mind the hours.
I used to work at a before and after school club, in a school as a special support assistant and as a lunchtime supervisor.

Hiya, have been thinking hard on this. I come across a lot of job titles/responsibilities & project campaigns that on the surface would appear flexible enough to help manage part time considerations .. could be hugely wrong though !

Library & Children information services may have a notice board you can check for suitable positions.
Administation, advisory and consultancy.
Mobile services, craft, creche, library - book & toy.
GPs Surgery, Health & clinic possibly have afternoon clubs that require a leader or playworker (check qualifications).
Fundraising or Liason officers, voluntary work may also play a part in this.
Hospital drivers maybe, local Arts groups !?

Do you have any links to your development officer or EYs dept that could help with their knowledge.. or possibly your county.gov website has a part time jobs page ?
You can see the sort of thing I mean from this excellent page of South Leeds Health & community projects: - www.slhfa.org.uk/PAGES/Projects.htm it's just knowing how to hear about the openings & job criteria !

Let us know what you find out

xx
