Safeguarding Children from Forced Marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM)

New practice guidelines (www.fco.gov.uk/forcedmarriage) on handling cases of forced marriage were published on 2 July. The letter linked to below from Baroness Morgan encourages schools to access these guidelines and make full use of them.As the summer holidays are a peak period for cases of forced marriage and FGM, schools and LAs are encouraged to be alert to the signs of potential abuse.
